120 by 110 centimetres. A swaddle that runs out of fabric before the final tuck is the reason swaddles come undone at 3am.

Breathable rather than insulating. Overheating is a real safe-sleep concern, and a thin generous wrap handles it better than a thick small one.

Swaddling, done properly

Snug at the arms. Loose at the hips. Always on the back.

2 rules that matter most: hips free to move, and always placed on the back

Paediatric guidance on swaddling is consistent on three points: wrap the arms snugly but leave the hips and knees free to flex and abduct, because tight straight-leg wrapping is associated with hip dysplasia; always place a swaddled infant on their back; and stop swaddling as soon as there are any signs of rolling. A generous thin wrap makes the loose-hip version easier to achieve than a short one.

Stop at the first sign of rolling

Follow your paediatrician's and your national safe-sleep guidance. A wrap is fabric, not supervision.

Real parent story

“I bought one. Then I bought five more.”

It was the only thing in the bag doing three jobs at once, and it was always the thing I could not find. Six was the number that stopped me washing one at 11pm.

Safety

Safe sleep — please read

Safe sleep is not a footnote on this product. Please read it before you buy.

Always on the back

A swaddled infant is placed on their back for every sleep, without exception.

Stop at rolling

Discontinue swaddling at the first sign your baby is trying to roll. A swaddled baby who rolls to their front cannot push up.

Hips free

Snug at the arms, loose at the hips and knees. Tight straight-leg wrapping is associated with hip dysplasia.

Watch for overheating

Thin layers, a cool room, no hats indoors, and nothing loose in the cot.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How big is it?
120 by 110 centimetres, which is generous enough to complete a proper swaddle with a final tuck.
Is it too thin?
It is deliberately muslin-weight and breathable. Overheating is a genuine safe-sleep concern, so a thin generous wrap is the right trade against a thick short one.
When should I stop swaddling?
At the first sign your baby is trying to roll. A swaddled baby who rolls onto their front cannot push themselves up.
How tight should it be?
Snug across the arms, loose at the hips and knees so the legs can still bend and splay. Tight straight-leg wrapping is associated with hip dysplasia.
What else can I use it for?
Pram shade, feeding cover, burp cloth, changing mat and floor blanket. It is the single most-used item in most changing bags.
Thirty-six prints — do they differ in any other way?
No. Same fabric, same 120 by 110, same 170 grams. Only the print changes.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash warm and tumble low. It gets softer every wash.
How long is delivery?
5 to 15 days with tracking.
